About ECHO
ECHO is an internationally recognized initiative of the Zoo and Aquarium Division at TESSERE with a mission to empower zoos and aquariums to reach their full potential as leaders in conservation and education. At TESSERE, we believe that the future of these organizations lies in their ability to captivate, fascinate, and inspire the next generation. But in an increasingly complex world, achieving this vision requires bold thinking and innovative approaches.
Unlike traditional industry conferences and conversations, ECHO brings together leaders from zoos and aquariums to explore challenges and opportunities through the lens of experts outside the zoological community. By engaging with thought leaders from fields such as photography, biomimicry, media, manufacturing, professional sports, and psychology, ECHO encourages participants to question assumptions and discover fresh perspectives on the future of their organizations.
Since its inception, ECHO has connected more than 600 leaders from nearly 300 organizations through a series of in-person and virtual conversations. Our annual gathering, now in its seventh year, has welcomed over 150 international zoo and aquarium leaders, while ECHO Digital continues to expand the dialogue through over 70 virtual sessions. Together, we explore what’s possible for zoos and aquariums by blending diverse expertise with a shared commitment to a thriving, resilient future for wildlife and communities.
At TESSERE, we are proud to be both empathetic and provocative thought partners in the ECHO journey. With deep roots in the zoological community and a comprehensive understanding of strategy, design, and impact, we are uniquely positioned to help guide zoos and aquariums toward a transformational future.
